Former GI councilman's name remains on ballot

Councilman Larry Carney announced his resignation from the Grand Island City Council weeks ago. However, you'll still see his name on the ballot come November 6th.

That's because he withdrew himself after the ballots were already printed.

While, his name has been withdrawn, the question is what happens if he receives enough votes to get re-elected on the city council?

Hall County Election Commissioner Dale Baker says in that case the next candidate in line would be the declared city council member.
