It's an opportunity to see and experience the official birth place of Kool-Aid, construction inside the Perkins Products Company in Hastings is underway.

The Adams County Convention and Visitors Bureau is turning the building into an attraction.

Hasting is already a destination city for Kool-Aid lovers, and the bureau says it's important for visitors to have multiple experiences available when they visit.

The visitors center has the Kool-Aid foot prints, the museum has the complete history, and now there's the place where it all began.

"We think this will give people multiple stops while they're in town and it will give them an opportunity to really experience Kool-Aid," said Kaleena Fong with the Hastings Visitor's Bureau. "They'll also spend more money and that's our goal in getting tourists in the community is to get them into our businesses, into our retail locations, and to give them an experience while they're here."

Fong says construction on the first street location should be completed by August--just in time for Kool-Aid days.
