Four year old sex assault trial moves to Lancaster County

A ruling has been made in the change of venue request made in the case of a Grand Island man accused of sexually assaulting a 4 four year Grand Island girl in October of 2011.

Hall County Attorney Mark Young says Abraham Richardson's trial will now take place in Lancaster County.

Proceedings are scheduled to begin on April 29.

Public Defender Gerry Piccolo filed the motion late last month
saying that pre-trial publicity would make selecting an unbiased jury in Hall County difficult.

The 27 year old Richardson is charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child and kidnapping.

The incident took place at Grand Island's Riverbend Apartments.
