A police chase and manhunt in Hastings ends with one man behind bars Friday morning. Police arrested 30 year old Travis Norris of Franklin around 5:30 pm Thursday on South Woodland Ave.

Hastings Police say the incident started just before 2:00 when officers attempted to pull over a stolen vehicle allegedly driven by Norris.

According to police, Norris accelerated away from police, driving through stop signs and red lights before crashing into another vehicle.
He later abandoned the SUV in a ditch and hid in a cornfield near Brickyard Park.

The Nebraska State Patrol brought in a helicopter and canines to assist with the search.

Norris was arrested for fleeing to avoid arrest, possession of stolen property and leaving the scene of an accident.
