NE GOP convention comes to Grand Island next week
The Nebraska GOP convention is being held next weekend in Grand Island, and you can expect stepped up security. That's according to Nebraska Watchdog.
The executive director of the state Republican Party said in addition to its usual sergeant at arms committee, the party hired even more security for the first time in convention history. Ron Paul and Mitt Romney supporters clashed over control at other state GOP conventions. About half of Nebraska's delegates went to Paul supporters in Douglas and Sarpy counties. And, according to Nebraska Watchdog, party officials are preparing for potential for trouble caused by Paul supporters, saying it could be rowdy. The executive director says he just doesn't want to take any chances. |
