Gas tax drops in Nebraska

Tools

Going over the cliff could mean higher taxes, but filling up at the pump won't be as painful starting Tuesday.

The gasoline tax in Nebraska will go down starting New Year's Day.

According to the Department of Revenue, the tax will be reduced by more than a penny a gallon.

It will last for six months through June 30th.

And that 1.6 cent decrease in taxes at the pump can save you more than twenty cents every time you fill up depending on the size of your car's fuel tank.
