Governor announces public meetings for new healthcare changes

Tools

The implementation of the Affordable Healthcare Act is sure to have Nebraska residents asking plenty of questions. Governor Dave Heineman is finding a way to answer them.

Wednesday, he and the state's Director of Insurance announced a series of informal public meetings across the state.

The meetings will address the health insurance exchange options caused by President Obama's federal healthcare overhaul.

There will be 6 meetings held in Lincoln along with one in Kearney on August 28th.

Heineman opposes the new healthcare and has been adamant in saying Nebraska will not take part in the Medicaid expansion.

These meetings will only address questions regarding health insurance exchange.
