Grand Island City Council votes on budget

Tools

The Grand Island City Council Tuesday night approved its 2012 - 2013 budget. That approval came on a 9 to 1 vote.

Much of last night's debate focused on funding for the Grand Generation Senior Center. While some money was set aside for the city owned facility more could be committed after discussions with the non-profit group that operates the center.

The budget also includes funding for new police officers and does not require a property tax increase.
