Grand Island City Singers perform at their annual holiday concert

With the holidays now in full swing, one singing group in Grand Island lent their voices to the songs of the season.

The Grand Island City Singers performed their annual holiday concert at Saint Paul Lutheran's on Saturday.

This year's show was called "Sing We Now of Christmas" and featured a blend of familiar and non-familiar tunes of the season.

The choir has performed for more than 25 years and even took time out to honor their Director for her many years of service.

"We try to give a pretty good mix," said Cheryl Lauer-Schuett, Director of the Grand Island City Singers. "Some years it's heavier on the more familiar songs. Sometimes it's kind of like this one was with the two they would obviously recognize and then some that are known to us."

The singers will be performing at Saint Paul's again Sunday at 3 p.m.
