The American Red Cross is testing out a new emergency response vehicle.

The slightly smaller and more fuel efficient vehicle is touring the country.

It made a stop at the Central Plains Chapter in Grand Island today.
Volunteers are testing out the vehicle and giving feedback to the national organization.

They're also comparing it to the current vehicle.

"This vehicle that we have currently was donated, we want to make sure that as we need to replace vehicles, that we replace them with those that are less expensive to run and easier for volunteers and staff to drive," said Donna Titman, Exec. Director Central Plains Red Cross.

Volunteers at the Central Plains Red Cross say the new vehicle is more efficient.

Though, the one they have is serving them well for now. It's unknown when they'll be getting the newest emergency response vehicle.
