Grand Island foundation director faces embezzlement sentencing

Facing up to twenty years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines,
the former executive director of the Grand Island Community Foundation Lisa Katzberg, was arraigned in Hall County District Court this morning.

Katzberg has pleaded not guilty to the charge of felony theft by unlawful taking.

The class three felony carries with it a punishment of one to 20 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines.

According to Grand Island Police, Katzberg embezzled more than $1500 from the foundation by opening a bank account, transferring funds to that account, and using those funds for personal use.

Katzberg's pretrial date is scheduled for February 28th
