Grand Island ministry offers a place to heal
A Grand Island Hispanic ministry is hosting a spiritual healing event this weekend.
For the first time, the three day event is taking place at the Heartland Events Center. Nearly 1,500 people came together Saturday to share in spiritual healing. "So whatever is keeping you from God and everything that is good in your life, that's what this is for," said St. Mary's Cathedral Deacon Frank Moreno. The spiritual event is spoken entirely in Spanish. "God tells us I'm with you," Deacon Moreno said. For Jessica Esquivel, she's finding peace with the recent loss of her mother. "I cry sometimes, but I know she's in Heaven," said Esquivel. She attended her first spiritual healing a few months ago. The experience strengthened her faith. "Well I was thinking about my mom and he just put his hand on my head and he told me my mom belongs to Jesus Christ," Esquivel said. Today, she came with her whole family. They're finding strength, hope, and healing within one another. Just what Deacon Moreno says this event is for. "What you get out of it is healing inside and outside and a change of life hopefully," Deacon Moreno said. A powerful display of faith, and a meaningful event for those involved. "It was like waiting for Christmas, because the Holy Spirit was going to be here," Deacon Moreno said. "It's like opening up a present and feeling the love of Christ." |
