Hagel confirmation vote expected Tuesday

The Senate Armed Services Committee is getting ready to vote on Chuck Hagel's nomination for Defense Secretary. Committee Chair Senator Carl Levin scheduled the vote for Tuesday afternoon.

Despite a contentious nomination hearing, the former Republican Senator from Nebraska is expected to win confirmation.

Democrats hold a two-vote majority on the committee, 14-to-12.

Hagel has come under fire by members of his own party for comments he made on Israel and opposing sanctions against Iran while a senator.
