Harvest Celebration held at Prairie Loft
Harvest time is an important factor to many local residents. Prairie Loft in Hastings held their 5th annual Harvest Celebration on Sunday.
From farm animals to rides, to activities, there was something for all ages. Vendors lined the Center for Outdoor and Agricultural Learning, selling handmade items from jewelry to clothing. Kids could sing-a-long with musician, Jim King of Lincoln. Others enjoyed hay wagon rides. The Advanced Biology students of Adam Central led guided nature hikes and insect gatherings. One of the louder attractions, an antique corn thresher, was a crowd favorite. "I think the greatest impression I get from visitors is that we have so much to do and that we are doing so much all the time," said Executive Director, Amy Sandeen. "That's really fun because it's the community that comes together to support us." Sandeen says around 900 people attended the event. |
