Hastings College president abruptly resigns

Tools

In an abrupt move, Hastings College President Dennis Trotter has resigned from his position effective immediately, and the School's Board of Trustees has already named his successor.

Unnamed sources say that continued enrollment challenges at the college led to the change in leadership.

The board chose not to elect an "interim president" but has named
Don Jackson to permanently fill the position. Jackson was the school's VP for College Advancement and Chief Development Officer.

The school has scheduled a press conference for 3:00 Monday afternoon to address the issue.

Both Jackson and the chairman of the board of trustees
are expected to speak at the conference.

News 5 will have more on this story tonight at 5:00 and 6:00.
