Hastings Crossroads prepares for fall banquet
Kyle Bruna from the Hastings Crossroads Rescue Mission talked with News 5 Wednesday about their upcoming fall banquet.
Amy West: We're talking about your big fall fundraiser coming up on Thanksgiving.
Kyle Bruna: I know Thanksgiving is the big topic today, but before Thanksgiving we have our Harvesting Hope banquet which is definitely a great way that we can fundraise for the individuals that live at our facilities. Right now, I'm dealing with table sponsors which means the financial sponsorship of the table to pay for the tickets around there. Right now, we're doing okay with those. If you would like to sponsor you can check us out on our website or even call or come down. But also we're looking for hosts meaning people that can draw in the people and fill those seats even if they cannot financially support a table. We definitely need those people to bring individuals in who are willing to maybe donate and help us fundraise.
Amy: And how does one become a host?
Kyle: They would get a hold of me whether calling down to the center or checking out our website and I will get them set up with the information they need to do so.
Amy: And, again, this is on November 14th, right before Thanksgiving.
Kyle: It is at the Convention Center which used to be the Quality Inn.
Amy: Ok, and, of course, you are always looking for things, especially around the holidays to help with your needs at Crossroads. What are some of those needs right now?
Kyle: Some of our critical needs right now are the basics. We need toilet paper, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, deodorant. Some of the things we just need to smell good they also need for them to take care of themselves.
