Hastings Utilities implements new complaint policy
Getting into trouble on the job is something many try to avoid, even those who commit crimes behind closed doors. Among other cases, we've reported on the former Gretna city administrator who was accused of theft charges.
Well, they're incidents Hastings Utilities is trying to avoid, too. Its board implemented a new policy Thursday morning; urging its employees to say something if they see something wrong. The policy was listed on their agenda as the "whistle blower policy," but during their morning discussion Thursday they renamed it the "complaint reporting policy." Board member Chuck Shoemaker made the motion to add the policy. The Hastings Utilities Board says there have been no reports of illegal activity or misconduct within the company. The policy is only being implemented to protect employee and company integrity. |
