Hastings downtown businesses close for the day

This winter storm has downtown Hastings looking like a ghost town. Numerous businesses hung up the closed for business signs in their window on Thursday.

From Gary Michael's Clothiers to the local barber shop, many places decided to keep their employees off the roads with a day off from work.

But, one business provided Hastings residents with a warm place to hang out and grab a cup of hot chocolate.

The Blue Moon Cafe on Second Street said they had a busier morning than expected and stayed opened through lunch. But they have served their last cup of joe for the night as they are closed the rest of the evening.
