Hastings man assaulted for iPod

A 24 year old Hastings man was taken to Mary Lanning Memorial Healthcare after allegedly being assaulted and robbed in front of his residence early Tuesday morning.

Police say the man was smoking a cigarette outside of his residence on 600 N Hastings Avenue around 2:45 Tuesday morning when a white male struck him with a stick and demanded he give him his iPod.

The victim gave the man his iPod and the assailant took off running.

Police are investigating the incident.
