Hastings ranks high on property tax survey

Both good and bad news for property owners in Hastings. According a study done by the city of Norfolk, the city of Hastings has the third highest property tax rate of all first class cities in the state of Nebraska.

A year ago, it was number 1 on that list.

Hastings home owners pay $2.34 cents for every $100 worth of valuation.

Grand Island ranks sixth on the list while Kearney comes in at 11th.

Holdrege ranks 23rd and York at 30th.
