In just a few short hours, thousands of people will be descending on Grand Island for what's been dubbed the world's largest totally irrigated working farm show. And it just gets bigger every year.
Husker Harvest kicks off tomorrow morning after weeks of preparations.
News 5's Josh Egbert has more on what it takes to get the event up and running.
"There's 80 acres of tents, another 100 acres of parking lots and then about 350 acres of field demonstrations," said Matt Joungmann.
Tents are up, equipment in place, ready for the 34th annual Husker Harvest Days.
"It's a really good team and there's a lot of reunions that happen because there's a big team that comes in from all over the country," Joungmann said.
Over 600 companies are expected at this year's event.
"Another record count and we've added 30 lots to the south edge of the grounds, so even more space," said Joungmann.
Companies began bringing in their equipment and setting up over the weekend.
"It's quite a bit of planning to get the machines here, what machines we want here, the obviously the landscaping and all that to coordinate all that and get everybody on the same page, it's quite a bit of work," said Jeremy O'Hare, Hardi North America.
But setting up the site has been taking place a lot longer.
"We've had tents going up here for about 3 weeks, so it's been in motion for quite some time.
Companies from 30 to 40 states are expected to showcase their products.
"It continues to amaze me that effort these companies go to, to attract growers on to their lots," said Joungmann.
"Hopefully we'll be talking with a lot of people, giving them info on our product and getting our name out there," O'Hare said.
A busy Monday getting things prepared for the nearly 100,000 visitors expected at this year's Husker Harvest Day.
Husker Harvest Days kicks off Tuesday morning at 8:00 am. The event will run 8:00 to 5:00 Tuesday and Wednesday and 8:00 to 4:00 on Thursday.
News 5 will be live at Husker Harvest Days beginning Tuesday at 11:30 and again during News 5 at 5:00.
