The Nebraska Supreme Court has approved the nomination of a former Hastings Attorney as the Presiding Judge of County Court's Tenth Judicial District.

Governor Heineman appointed Judge Michael Burns to fill a vacancy and serve on the county court bench in 2011 after 19 years of practicing law.

As presiding judge, Judge Burns has primary responsibility for overseeing the delivery of county court services within his judicial district.

The 10th judicial district incorporates 9 south central Nebraska counties
Including Adams, Clay, and Kearney.
