Kearney City Council revisits chicken ordinance

Believe it or not chickens are once again are leading Kearney's city council meeting Tuesday night. Back in January the council opposed allowing chickens within the city limits.

Now housekeeping is in order.

A public hearing will be held at Tuesday night's city council meeting after the city banned the housing of chickens in city limits.

The council will look at a revised animal ordinance.

The new law will clarify language and make distinctions regarding animals that may or may not be allowed within the city limits.

The amendment will also address old language pertaining to old rules allowing for animals that have been banned.
