Enjoying warm indoor fun this holiday break

With snow on the ground here in the Tri Cities, one organization gives local kids and their families a chance to enjoy an indoor Winter activity.

Over 100 children from across the Hastings area were treated to a free bowling tournament at Pastime Lanes.

The annual event has been sponsored by the Hastings Kiwanis Club for the past ten years and is aimed at connecting to local young residents.

"Kiwanis is all about children, about helping children in the community and in the world," said Maureen Mohlman, Event Co-Chair. "So this was just started as a way for kids to have something to do when they start getting bored between Christmas and New Year's."

While all the kids enjoyed a morning of free fun, the top five bowlers in seven different age groups took home shiny new trophies.
