Kerrey waits to make Senate decision

by KHAS-TV

Both Democrats and Republicans have acknowledged that Bob Kerrey is the Democrats' best hope for retaining the U.S. Senate Seat held by Ben Nelson. But we still don't know if Kerrey is going to run and we won't know this week.

The former one-term Nebraska governor and two-term U.S. senator is still mulling a run to replace U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson.

He, as you know, announced last month that he would not seek a third term.

Kerrey had said earlier this month during a nearly weeklong trip to Nebraska that he would make a decision shortly after returning to New York, where he's lived and worked for the past decade.

Kerrey says he expects to decide sometime next week.
