The Kot murder trial could be winding down. But, that all depends on the jury. The defense and prosecutor gave their closing arguments Monday in Hall County District Court.

Arkanjelo Kot has pleaded not guilty to the first degree murder of 17-year old Walid Omar Aden.

Kot and Aden were involved in an altercation at a Pump and Pantry in Grand Island back in 2010 when things turned ugly.

Last week Kot testified he went to the gas station to trade in lottery tickets for gas money. That's when Aden approached Kot about a shooting incident that happened back in 2009.

The defense argues Kot feared for his life and used a firearm in self defense while the prosecution says Kot deliberately shot Aden out of anger and rage.

Kot could face charges of 1st degree murder and the use of firearms to commit a murder.

The case went to the jury around 2:00 this afternoon.
