Thursday night in Hastings the Speaker of the State Legislature stopped by to talk with constituents. He was invited to the Hastings Library Auditorium by the area Right to Life group.

And his main topic was his 2010 bill that stopped abortions in Nebraska at 20 weeks.

Thirteen states are now using similar laws.

News 5 asked Flood about speculation that he might challenge Lieutenant Governor Rick Sheehy for Governor in 2014.

"I'm thinking about it. I'm interested in it. I'm talking to people all over the state. I'm in Hastings tonight; I'll be in Wahoo tomorrow. I'm very serious about running for Governor," said Flood.

He says he'll make up his mind after the November election.

Flood added that even though he's being term limited he's in favor of keeping the limit to two terms.

And while Governor Heineman says state senators shouldn't get a pay increase, Flood said it's up to the voters to decide.
