Jerry Bumgardner and Dr. Christopher Murray tell us about a special Love Your Heart event going on this week.
Amy West: We are loving our hearts this week on News 5 at 11:30 and just in general. Dr. Murray is joining us right now and is heading up this Love Your Heart event that started running Monday and goes through Friday. Can you tell us about Love Your Heart?
Dr. Murray: Yes, for $25 suggested donation Crossroads Center Rescue Mission, we're doing an EKG screening, blood pressure, checking blood pressure in the ankles as well as in the arms. Just a lot of variety of different vitals. We're also giving out some good health, natural health recommendations based off of those things. It's important to screen out those serious conditions whether you have heart disease or heart issues but you also want to make some holistic health recommendations to people as well. So that's what we do in our office, but also at the same time what a fantastic way to support a phenomenal organization like Crossroads Center Rescue Mission.
Amy: So it's a great deal. $25 for basically an exam on how you're treating your body and tips also from doctors.
Dr. Murray: Comprehensive information and also a lot of good health information. You can get your body healthy, the better way, the right way, the natural way.
Amy: Wonderful. Thank you, Dr. Murray. And, Jerry, will you tell us a little about how this $25 donation goes and helps Crossroads Rescue Mission?
Jerry: Well, when you figure 100 people a day what it takes just to feed them and hire staff to take care of them, I tell you, we have a huge need and Dr. Murray just stepping up to the plate like that, that's what we need, people to step up and say here, we can help and we just thank you, Dr. Murray, for all you're doing.
