MADD releases statement on GI mayor's behavior

Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Nebraska say that when DUI charges are lessened like in Mayor Vavricek's case the message that drunk driving is a serious crime is lost.

That's not all they had to say.

They released a statement:

"The decision of the city prosecutor to drop the charges from driving under the influence to reckless driving sets a precedent that those who drink and drive will not see the consequences of their actions.
It sends a message that Mayor Vavricek's .09 blood alcohol level, clearly over the .08 legal limit, was not taken into consideration."
