Man killed by train in Downtown Grand Island

A man was hit and killed Wednesday night by a train on the Union Pacific Railroad tracks at North Front and Broadwell in Grand Island.

At the scene the only information the Grand Island Police department released was the deceased pedestrian is a "white male."

Police aren't releasing any more details.

But Captain Carlin at the Grand Island Fire Department tells News 5 the Fire Department was dispatched and arrived on the scene at 5:20pm this evening at North Front and Broadwell for a train versus pedestrian accident.

The name and age of the victim has not been released.

And it is unknown exactly where the male was first hit on the UP tracks.
