Just six months after taking an unexplained leave of absence, Mary Lanning President and CEO Brad Neet announced this morning he is stepping down from his position.

Neet's resignation will take effect August 13th.

According to a press release from Mary Lanning, Neet will continue to provide consultative services to the organization through the end of the month.

Neet says he is leaving to pursue other opportunities.

He says he is looking forward to his future where he can continue assisting others in the healthcare field.

Mark Callahan has been named by the board of trustees as the interim CEO.

A nationwide search for a CEO has been launched. But it could take a year or more to find the ideal candidate.
