CASA of Hastings is getting some much needed funding. The organization just found out they'll be receiving a federal grant to go towards the Maryland Living Center.

It means the center will receive almost $200,000 a year for the next five years.

This will help cover a large majority of the necessary funds.

The Living Center will house at risk youth who have aged out of the foster care system.

In addition to the grant, CASA is also pitching the "Adopt a Room" Campaign to help furnish the building.

"It kind of allows everybody on different financial scales to be able to adopt a room, provide the objects, materials, that kind of thing and support the youth that are coming in," said MLC Program Director Lauren Slaughter.
