Morning fire injures Kearney residents

An early morning house fire in Kearney sent two people to the hospital. One remains in critical condition Monday night. The other is stable.

The call came in around 3:00 Monday morning, and the Kearney volunteer fire department remained on the scene Monday afternoon.

The fire happened at a home on the three hundred block of west 30th street.

Kearney fire tells us six people were in the house at the time of the fire.
Four people escaped onto the roof.

Two others were trapped in the basement of the home.

How the fire started is still under investigation.
