Heading into Thanksgiving week, the 2013 wheat crop in Nebraska is rated at just 17 percent good to excellent and 40 percent poor to very poor.

Kansas' wheat crop is also in tough shape with just 30 percent good to excellent - that's the second poorest wheat crop in mid-November that Kansas Agricultural Statistics has ever recorded.

Experts blame part of the wheat's poor condition on - no surprise - the lack of moisture and above average temps we've seen this year.
