December 31st of 2012 marked an important date for the future of wind farms here in the state. The production tax credit was part of last week's fiscal cliff tax relief legislation. At the credit was renewed.

Nebraska has eleven wind farm operations.

A farm in Broken Bow was the states most recent $145 million clean air development project dedicated last summer.

But Phase II of the Broken Bow wind farm was on hold pending the renewal of PTC's.

Project leaders expect the facility to immediately begin construction.

The extension is expected to open doors for other wind farms.
