by Colin Murphy

Hastings College President Dennis Trotter is out after less than 2 years on the job. News 5's Colin Murphy was at the press conference held just a few hours ago.

Why did Trotter decide to step down? We still don't know the answer. That's what Hal Dittmer Chairman of the Hastings College Board of Trustees said when News 5 asked him about Trotter's resignation.

Trotter started June 1st in 2011.

News 5 asked Mr. Dittmer if President Trotter he was forced out and he flat out said that was not the case.

Trotter resigned on February 1st.

And, Hastings College graduate Don Jackson immediately moved in as the new president the same day.

Jackson knows his new job will not be an easy task.

Trotter's contract went through the academic year. The board says they will honor Trotter's contract. But, it will not have a large financial impact on the college.
