A wildfire continues to burn in northern Nebraska.

The town of Norden was evacuated Friday due to the massive fire.

Around 40 fire departments and over 300 fire fighters are battling the massive wildfire that has burned over 100,000 acres.

Emergency Manager, Doug Fox, says the fire is 50 percent contained as of Sunday night, but that figure could easily change.

Gusting winds up to 30 miles per hour are expected Monday.

Six homes have been destroyed by the fire since it started on Friday by a lightning strike.

As Governor Heineman said Saturday, firefighters are getting some air support from three Army National Guard Blackhawk helicopters that have been dropping water at regular intervals.
