After millions of cups of coffee, thousands of those famous milkshakes, and more than 80 years serving the Hastings community, the OK Café officially closed their doors Saturday afternoon.

The café closed at 2 p.m. because, frankly, they ran out of food.

Customers filled the dining room throughout the day. Patrons from around the area and across the region stopped in for one last meal.

Mary Jo Randolph, owner of the OK Café for 30 years, along with her husband Pat, says the hardest part of saying goodbye is not seeing the customers she's gotten to know throughout the years.

"You see all those things and then you see them again and you know that it's sort of the end of an era for us as part of their lives and that's the sad part," Randolph said.

"It's been sad to watch the last customer; my customers that have been with me since what seems like forever and I won't get to see them every day," added Becky Beam who has been with the OK Café for the last 45 years.

The Randolph's are still hoping someone comes forward to purchase the café. For now, all three are looking forward to a little rest and relaxation.
