Offutt workers express outrage over potential furlough

Tools

The sequestration cuts could soon be seen here in Nebraska namely at Offutt Air Force Base.

Offutt civilian workers got together for a union meeting Wednesday night in Bellevue.

Officials at the air force base say potential cuts are still up in the air.

Some of the workers said not only are they upset, but they'll have to make some pretty extreme cuts.

"I will literally probably not buy food. I personally feel like our government has completely lost focus of what human beings, what we go through down here," said Tracy Killian.

The Offutt Base union says the furlough would mean they'll lose a day of work per week.

The office of public affairs said no specifics on the furlough are known at this time.
