Omaha Boys Town programs accused of mistreatment

by Katie Ferrell

Two Nebraska Boys Town programs are accused of treating children and teens improperly. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has stopped sending troubled youth to two Omaha programs after a bad review.

A Boys Town spokeswoman said no children have been mistreated at its Omaha facilities for troubled youth.

But she said a recent review did uncover some issues that needed to be corrected.

A Health and Human Services spokeswoman said referrals to both programs were suspended August 26th.

Boys Town said it expects the suspension to be lifted upon acceptance of its corrective action plan.
