Omaha left reeling from snowstorm

And of course, the effects of this blizzard are being felt across the state. The Omaha metropolitan area received 9 inches of snow.

Schools were closed across the city; and all flights out of Eppley Airfield before 8:30 this morning were canceled, with arrival and departure delays throughout Thursday.

The Omaha Public Power District says over 38,000 customers in its service area are without power.

Officials say they anticipate this being a multi-day restoration event.
