One person dead after afternoon crash, driver arrested
An afternoon crash in Hall County involving two motorcycles and a car has left one person dead, and the driver of the car behind bars.
Just before 4pm Monday afternoon, 34 year old Kathy Teichmeier of Almena, Kansas was traveling east bound on I-80 with five children in her. She suddenly decided to make a U-turn. Two motorcycles were following in the left lane behind her. Teichmeier's car struck the first motorcycle on the rear wheel, then the second bike struck the driver side rear door. The driver of the second one a 58 year old woman from Lincoln... died at the hospital. The name of the woman is not being released until family is notified. The woman's 60 year old husband was driving the first motorcycle. He suffered no injuries. Teichmeier and her five kids suffered only minor injuries. Teichmeier was taken into custody and is being charged with Felony motor vehicle homicide. She currently has an outstanding warrant for her in Custer County. |
