Pancakes make for a great breakfast, but at Perkins they are proving to be a great way to raise money for a cause.

Perkins restaurant in Grand Island held Give Kids the World Pancake Day on Saturday.

Hundreds of people were served free pancakes.

They could also donate to Give Kids the World, a magical resort fulfilling wishes of kids with life-threatening illnesses.

A goal of $1,000 was set for Saturday.

"They don't mind it because it's all for a good cause," said Perkins General Manager, Lisa Rader. "We all try as hard as we can to help raise money and we always feel good at the end of the day knowing that we helping give kids the world."

Rader says that by reaching their goal today, Perkins will have raised about $5,000 since August.
