Hastings Kiwanis puts on pancake feast for community
The grills are fired up and volunteers are hard at work flipping flap jacks as part of the annual Kiwanis Pancake Day at the Hastings City Auditorium.
"This is our annual pancake day. We are serving up pancakes from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. We want everyone to come down and enjoy pancakes. There's room for everybody. There's syrup, lots of different syrups, sugar-free, original, all the different kinds of syrups that you can imagine. Yeah, we've got about 600 pounds of batter that we'll make today to make all the pancakes. And then we've got about 300 pounds of sausage as well as ham that was donated by the Pork Feeders Organization," said Drew Ceperley. "First, I thought it was going to be fun and it was fun because I got to eat pancakes," said Delia Miles. "And I don't get to do that a lot on days I have school 'cause I have to go to school early." "It's going to be a great time down here. You got your choice of sausage or ham. Come down and support us so we can support the kids in the community," Ceperley said. |
