Papillion chosen as site for new data center

Tools

The city of Kearney has been working on "Project Edge" - a new data center - for around a year. In a separate project, the city of Papillion is receiving its own news that's promising growth.

Fidelity Investments has plans to build a data center in the city of Papillion.

The project is expected to add jobs, business and industry.

Mayor David Black says the water and sewer extensions will also help accelerate natural growth in the area. The project will cost a minimum of $200 million.

Construction will begin right away and is expected to be complete by 2014.

There's no new word however on the future of the Kearney site.
