Picking out your prom dress at Glamorous Generosity
Picking out a prom dress for some is much like picking out a wedding dress.
But over in Grand Island at the Conestoga Mall, if you buy a dress you're also giving back at the same time. Formal gowns and accessories are on sale for $20 or less at the Glamorous Generosity Prom Boutique. While the intent is to provide inexpensive prom attire to teens, the goal is to also raise $7,000 in 2013 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grand Island. "Amazing support particularly from a bridal store in Aurora, Nebraska," said Michelle Lubken with Big Brothers Big Sisters. "They donated a couple hundred dresses to us and they're brand new, otherwise they've been mostly gently used that we've been selling." If you have a formal dress your dying to get rid of donations can be made all year long. The boutique will be open next weekend. March 2nd and 3rd are the last days for the fundraiser. |
