Pledge of Allegiance now required for Nebraska schools
Students on summer break should be practicing the Pledge of Allegiance. It will now be required in all Nebraska schools.
Friday, the Nebraska Board of Education made the decision which will govern all schools and district. The rule change will require all students from kindergarten to 12th grade to recite the pledge daily in front of the flag. Students who decide not to recite the pledge can choose to stand or sit quietly as long as they respect those who wish to participate. Schools must follow to be accredited by the state and receive state funds. The attorney general's office along with the governor still must approve the change. And, if they do the new change will become effective sometime this school year. |
