Police arrest Wood River man in boating accident

A pontoon boat driver was arrested for what police say was boating while drunk. We now know it was 39 year old Brian Packer of Wood River who was arrested.

Police said he was driving the boat Sunday night at Sherman County Reservoir when he collided with a tube carrying two people.

19 year old Matthew McAlexander and 12 year old Joshua Rowley.
Rowley was pronounced dead at the scene.

McAlexander died from his injuries at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
