A routine annual audit shows an undisclosed amount of money has gone missing from the Grand Island Community Foundation.
It's now being investigated as an embezzlement.
At the same time, the executive director has resigned.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, Lisa Katzberg allegedly opened an account at a bank, transferred funds to that account and used those funds for personal use.
The president of the community foundation says she believes Katzberg acted alone in transferring the funds.
The loss of funds was discovered Thursday.
They total amount of money that went missing has not been released, but board members say it's not a huge amount.
The foundation says it has received repayment of the funds.
Policy continue to investigate the incident.
