It's hard to believe we're already gearing up for the holidays, but that's what's going on at the Prairie Winds Arts Center in Grand Island. Dee Rogers spoke with News 5 about their latest events.

Amy West: Let's talk about your "Celebrate" show which has its grand opening tomorrow night.

Dee Rogers: It's all of the artists that are members of the gallery, but we have additional temporary consigners coming in just for Christmas and they brought some beautiful things for us to share with the public. The opening will be tomorrow night from 5:30 to 8:30 and we always have refreshments and good times and sharing our art, meeting friends and family. It's really a fun time every first Friday.

Amy: Tell us a little bit about what people are going to see at this show.

Dee: In addition to paintings - we'll obviously have a painter - we'll have pottery, we have woodwork, we have glassware and some fantastic jewelry that has come in. We have a new member now, Kay Grimminger who is doing some wonderful, unique types of jewelry. We had some consigners come in with some small, small items that will be affordable items for your stocking or as a gift. We have a lot of affordable things, but, in addition to that, for every purchase that you do we are going to give you a handmade ornament to go with your Christmas. Just to say Merry Christmas and thank you from Prairie Winds.

Amy: A little piece you can keep in your home to remember.

Dee: Oh yes. It's just a fun time. I can't believe it's November 1st already. The year really went fast. So this is going to be a nice show and I think everybody will enjoy it.

Amy: It sounds great. A great way to get ready for the holidays.
